In this abstract painting, I stepped outside my usual colour palette to an urban landscape. I wanted to capture the sensation of looking at a city at night through a rain-soaked window. Bright neon lights blur and merge into shifting reflections of colour.
I enjoyed branching out from my usual, nature-inspired subjects and capture the feeling of venturing into London for the day: energised and exhilarated whilst there, yet exhausted as I return home. This painting channels the rush and sensory onslaught of light, movement and sound. The blur of traffic and neon signs all find their way into the canvas.
